Janet Tatman, Ph.D, PAC

Dr. Tatman has been active in several capacities in this field including assisting in scoring Part II of the specialty examination of the American Board of Sleep Medicine, serving as an accreditation site visitor for the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and reviewing pre-publication articles for one of the major sleep disorders scientific publications.

Dr. Tatman loves being part of the rapidly growing, multi-disciplinary specialty of sleep disorders and finds it enormously gratifying to assist people in resolving sleep problems that often have plagued them for years.  Her first professional role in medicine involved work as a physician assistant in primary care and emergency medicine.  A decision to become a psychologist led to academic preparation for an internship in health psychology and a post-doctoral fellowship in sleep disorders.  Entering the field of sleep became a rewarding way to blend life-long interests in both clinical medicine and psychology.

Dr. Tatman enjoys resolving chronic insomnia without the use of medication, treating patients who have circadian rhythm disorders (sleep at the “wrong” time of day) and those who struggle with nightmares, sleepwalking and sleep-related eating, as well as taking care of patients with restless legs syndrome and sleep apnea.
